 After
graduating from East Carolina University, I spent several
months with the hope of finding a government or policy position
in Prague. This did not come to fruition, so I returned to
the U.S. and began working in the food brokerage business
as an analyst. After a few years in the brokerage business,
I passed up a promotion in order to start my own company.
In 2000, as creator, President and CEO of 4 Geeks and a Laptop,
Inc., my responsibilities include managing and servicing our
clients' web services and technical support issues. 4 Geeks
and a Laptop currently services over 100 clients in the Wilmington
and Raleigh areas, including several non-profit organizations.
 In
2001, I was appointed to the New Hanover Commission for Women
and served two consecutive terms. During this time on the
NHCW, I had the opportunity to meet and address both the New
Hanover County Commissioners and the Wilmington City Council.
